Digital Radiology

An important diagnostic tool that we use at McCrory Animal Clinic is digital radiography. This in-house radiography capability enables us to safely and quickly assess the status of injuries or diseases that may be affecting your pet.

It can be extremely beneficial in helping our veterinarians diagnose fractures, locate objects your pet may have swallowed, discover masses such as tumors, measure organ size for disease, diagnose pneumonia, discover pregnancies, bladder stones, chronic arthritis, and certain spinal cord diseases.

Digital radiography is safe, non-invasive, and it uses only very low doses of radiation. Because the level of radiation exposure is so low, it is safe for pregnant females as well as very young pets.

Digital radiography also provides images faster and with greater clarity than traditional x-rays. We can manipulate and enhance images, allowing our doctors to see exactly what they need to diagnose a condition more accurately. Additionally, the digital images may be shared instantly with board certified veterinary radiologists for consultation if required.
